About this site

All of the MIDI files on this site that I made were done using an obsolete program by Opcode called Musicshop.  I use the piano-roll view to enter and edit the music.  I am not able to find a more up-to-date program that works as well, so I have to use Musicshop on an old computer that is running Windows95.  In the past I used it on a Macintosh.  When I'm not entering the notes directly with a mouse, I use an old ('93) Yamaha PSR-500 synthesizer, but I don't actually "play" the music in real time - I'm not that good of a piano player.  My MIDI out goes through a Boss Dr. Synth - not too high-end, but sounds better than the Yamaha - and into some really good speakers that I picked up in the clearance aisle of that place that I don't approve of shopping at.

The owner of this site was a horn prodigy in high school. Then she went to college. She started out as a horn major, then got bored and switched to music ed, got a load of the junior high students and then very quickly switched to music theory and composition (she has since learned that she has a pretty bad case of ADHD). She didn't want to get a job after college, so she went on to get a master's degree in music theory. During that time she discovered the she hates teaching, with a passion, so she got a master's in library science so she could get a real job.

Sharon had a real job for fifteen months and decided that working just wasn't her bag, so she married herself off to a successful electrical engineer and started pumping out kids (three so far). This has seriously diminished her time available for practicing, but she really enjoys not having a job.

There's a moral in there somewhere.

Sharon recently had to move from her native Florida to southeast Wisconsin. She hates it here and misses the beaches and the thunderstorms, but she does not miss the crowds, the heat, or especially the cockroaches.

Sharon does not allow her picture to be taken, and does not usually refer to herself in the third person.
Drop her a line at hornmidi at gmail.com, but please do not send her any spam, hoaxes, virus warnings, pleas for post cards for sick kids, etc.  Sharon hates spam.
